Cities sleep Cities wake Stumbling, struggling, running past For years have come And years have gone Histories engraved on every brick The trees they watch and giggle at them the people, what are they running for? The children, what are they dreaming of? Dreams, breathless and alluring Seemingly near And yet so far The skies, they have seen through the aeons Its children hustling for who knows what? With bated breath, as one awaits, I sit and wonder, Whose side to take..?

You be cheating on me?
Street vendors and their flair for hisaab! And the never ending paucity of change!
'Did she just click me? 'A line I heard a number of times when I turned around to leave. Oh and their were others too.
'Are you from phoreign?
'Which paper are u with?'
And not to forget'
'Shobayi ei dike takan, chhobi tola hoche!' ( Everyone, look this way, a photo is being taken)
Simple joys of life.
Yes, solitudes. One cannot weigh it most of the time. Some doors, they don't open.(right. I wanted this line aligned with the first pic but oh, hell.)

From my windows, I peek.
The wait is too long
Each hour I sit
Pining and whining
The door is barred
My hands smell
of iron rods
For they have clasped too long
The curtains drawn
As I pretend you'll come
And unlock the portals...

Each day, a new awakening.
Monday morning blues. Nothing like a cup of coffee to combat them.

The pious and the feline
My cat has a companion, equally terrified of me. Little tuxedo sisters, conspiring against me and my camera.
Some snaps from the dusty desks.
Let me eat in peace!

Alien town
She meows, disgruntled
In wintry chills
Murky charcoal skies, she watches
On lintels she licks
Her wounds
Her ticks
Her coat of snow
Her eyes like glowing emeralds,
Like planets of verdant milieu
Challenge my curiosity
Every waking morn...
My little cat who Im yet to name, comes to my garden each day and meows till her share of food is served. She is the only one I would like to befriend and I hope the feeling is mutual.
